We are proud to be certified as a sustainable grower and we take pride in producing ultra-premium wines from our estate vineyards located within two of California's most famous viticultural appellations: Russian River Valley and Chalk Hill. Located in Sonoma County, our 710 acre estate boasts many diverse micro climates, including rare soil and slope combinations. Our grapes benefit from these distinct climates and terroirs.
We handcraft small quantities of our own wines under the Notre Vue Estate and Balverne Reserve labels, produced from selected blocks. 250 acres are planted with classic European grape varietals, while 350 acres are dedicated to Forever Wild open space. The result is a long-standing tradition of growing ultra-premium grapes for our own use by a number of top-tier wineries that produce highly awarded wines.
This Blanc de Noirs is an elegant ray of golden sunshine wrapped up in a swirl of delicate bubbles. A bouquet of stone fruit and hints of white cherry and mango skins are complemented by crème fraise and macadamia nuts on the nose. The body is light and dry, with acidic notes of green apple skins and white grapefruit. Finishing with a touch of white rose petal and shortbread at the end of each sip.
This Cabernet Sauvignon displays notes of morello cherries, chocolate, and subtle spice elements. The palate is filled with ripe red plums, dark chocolate, and cinnamon.
A true Bordeaux-style wine in every sense, this is as close to a left-bank blend as you will find in California. The refinement in this wine is a result of slow, careful fermentation and an exacting barrel regimen, mirroring very closely traditional french techniques.
- Rich Cook
This is a classic medium-bodied red with moderate tannins. Aged in French Oak for 2 years, this has a balance between red fruits, herbs, and peppery earthiness with hints of cocoa beans and baking spice. This red wine is refreshingly easy-to-drink! Perfectly paired with a summer evening enjoying some delicious penne pasta with Italian sausage and fennel.
A classic trio, this GSM displays wild strawberries and cherries on the nose, along with angel-food cake, crushed herbs, and black pepper. The palate follows with waves of rich red plums, Rainier cherries, cardamom, and dried herbs. Pair this wine with robust dishes such as cassoulet, roast duck, or rustic country sausage.
