Notre Vue Estate Wines
Notre Vue Estate Wines unique terroir is located entirely within both the Chalk Hill and Russian River Valley appellations in north-eastern Sonoma County. The lower portion of our property lies at approximately 200 feet of elevation and is similar to much of the Russian River Valley, with deep, rich clay-loam soils.
This area is often affected by the fog and cool winds that snake their way up through the river valley from the Pacific Ocean. This delicate marine influence affords our Pinot Noir and Chardonnay a long, cool growing season that allows for great flavor development and retention of natural acidity.
As one heads northeast through our vineyard, tracing the boundary of our Forever Wild nature preserve, there is nearly 800 feet of elevation gain. These hillside plantings lie on shallower soils with sedimentary bedrock at about 36 inches.
These steep hillsides limit the vines’ access to water, naturally limiting vigor and yields, which produces grapes with more intensity and complexity. The higher elevation here also allows for more sunlight and warmer mornings than the valley floor. These conditions create an ideal environment for growing our later ripening Bordeaux varieties.
Pure elegance in a glass, this refreshing GSM Rose is the perfect accessory for any occasion. From nose to palate, notes of white nectarine, lychee, and orange blossom are present, complemented by light minerality and crisp citrus zest on the finish.
Elegant and refined this rosé of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre shines with fruit-forward notes of
summer from nose to palate. Your senses are ignited with aromas of white nectarine, tart strawberries, and apple blossoms. The palate is light at crisp with waves of white florals, citrus peel, and touches of summer peaches and berries on the finish, perfectly mirroring the rose gold hue of the wine.
This subtly rich Chardonnay Musque glistens softly with hints of gold in the glass. Aromas of lemon oil diverge with notes of green apples, citrus peel, almond shavings, and swirls of cracked white rock salt on the nose. Lingerings of these fruit notes follow on the palate, accompanied with hints of white tube rose and raw vanilla bean on a dry finish with bright acidity.
This brilliantly fresh Chardonnay Musque boasts an underlying richness from time spent “Sur Lie” in neutral French oak barrels. The wine offers aromas of fresh Bartlett pear, lemon juice, and white flowers, and follows with a palate of ripe green apples, nectarine, and Asian pears. While this wine will pair beautifully with fruit-based dishes or seafood, it is also fantastic on its own, as its refreshing qualities cannot be understated.
Our 2020 Chardonnay Musque displays rich aromatics from nose to palate with a silky mouth feel and crisp acidity. On the nose your sense are awoken by a medley of fresh green herbs and golden apples married with undertones of fresh clementine, sea salt and toast. A rich palate follows with waves of fresh pear juice, yellow grapefruit, and straw on the finish.
A delicious Chardonnay that exudes luxury from nose to palate. The aromas wrap around you with the ease and comfort of cashmere with notes of golden apples and lemon oil, baked with marzipan and vanilla bean. The palate is a touch brighter, yet still full with ripples of ripe pears and apples. Followed by hints of lemon grass, wild white roses, and a dusting of nutmeg on the finish.
Comprised entirely of the Robert Young or Wente clone, this chardonnay is a selection of our best lots and finest french oak barrels. Winemaker Alex Holman uses native fermentation and a delicate touch to craft this wine into a style reminiscent of rich southern Burgundies. You will find aromas ranging from orchard fruits and almond skins to jasmine flowers and marshmallows. Rich and enveloping in the mouth, the wine offers a treasure trove of ripe pears, nectarines, apples, and even marzipan.
One can really sense the terroir in this sophisticated medium bodied Merlot, with an essence that is both aromatically fruit forward and herbaceous in taste. A bouquet of fresh mint leaves and sweet violets are balanced by macerated plum, blackberries, and sweet cocoa on the nose. On the palate, the wine is silky smooth with cohesive notes of raspberries muddled with fresh bay leaf and lavender.
This Blanc de Noirs is an elegant ray of golden sunshine wrapped up in a swirl of delicate bubbles. A bouquet of stone fruit and hints of white cherry and mango skins are complemented by crème fraise and macadamia nuts on the nose. The body is light and dry, with acidic notes of green apple skins and white grapefruit. Finishing with a touch of white rose petal and shortbread at the end of each sip.
This sparkling wine is both delicate and sophisticated, cascading with small bubbles as it gleans in the natural sunlight with a dry and soft finish. Its bouquet showcases aromas of pear, golden apple, white cherry, and melon rind, with faint notes of almonds. The palate, though light and crips, mirrors these fruit notes with gentle ribbons of green apple, white peach, and white floral blossoms.
This fruit-forward Pinot Noir transports you instantly to the charming and beckoning essence of the
Russian River Valley. An aroma of freshly muddled blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, and figs
instantly entices you on the nose. These notes are then married with waves of dark cocoa and a medley of cracked black pepper and cinnamon. The palate is lush and dry with notes of spiced black tea and rose water, with touches of berry bramble and pomegranate juice on a lightly tannic finish.
A true Bordeaux-style wine in every sense, this is as close to a left-bank blend as you will find in California. The refinement in this wine is a result of slow, careful fermentation and an exacting barrel regimen, mirroring very closely traditional french techniques.
