Notre Vue estate has an excellent pedigree from Grapes that were grown on the property as early as 1869 when relatives of General Mariano Vallejo, the founder of the town of Sonoma, determined that the local topography provided excellent conditions for growing grapes.
In the 1970's the famous Balverne Cellars was founded on the existing property by Doug Nalle and John Kongsgaard and went on to provide wines to the White House and 100's of fine restaurants throughout the country.
Owners since 1992, Bob and Renee Stein have revived the Balverne label to its previous glory and introduced the ultra-premium Notre Vue label.
This delicate wine offers aromatics reminiscent of watermelon, orange rind, and morning roses. Fruity on the palate, the crisp acidity balances flavors of strawberries, guava, and white peach. Try this Rosé with a fresh goat cheese salad, seafood, or lightly grilled summer fruit. Be careful, though . . . it’s so refreshing that on a hot day you’ll be reaching for that second bottle in no time!
With a classic nose of bright citrus, tropical fruits, and grassy notes, this Sauvignon Blanc is crisp and refreshing. The palate offers up lightly honeyed lemon and grapefruit flavors, complemented by a streak of spicy lemongrass. Pair this wine with salads, seafood dishes, and spicy ethnic cuisines.

This Russian River Zinfandel can only be described as an enigma in a glass, as it presents itself as a full-bodied red wine only to finish with the smooth elegance of a lighter wine. On the nose delicious notes of berry compote and cinnamon swirl in the glass with underlining hints of sandalwood and redwood bark. On the palate top notes of smoked hazelnuts are complimented by tart cranberry juice and a lingering of pink peppercorn on the finish.
Our 2019 Balverne Chardonnay displays aromas of ripe green & golden apples, lemons, butterscotch, and marshmallow. The rich palate follows with a variety of orchard fruits, melons, lemons, and a lingering hint of spice. Full-bodied but still crisp, this wine will pair beautifully with everything from roast chicken to summer fruit salads.
The elegant perfume of this classically aromatic varietal has the essence of stepping into an estate garden, beckoning you with fruit and floral trees alike. Instantly upon first whiff you are met with notes of fresh muddled peach, cantaloupe, and honeysuckle. Followed softly with an embrace of a brown butter sweetness. A medley of juicy apples and pears dance on the palate
finishing with notes of jasmine and hazelnut.
Equally as stunning from visual, to nose, to palate, this estate Malbec creates a symbiotic relationship between Old and New World aromatics and flavor notes. A bouquet of boysenberry jam, tart red plum, brown sugar crystals, and undertones of violets are found on the nose.
Made up of 3 different clones from The Estate, this pinot noir fits perfectly into the Balverne lifestyle. A fruity and refreshing wine, this is perfect for those backyard barbecues, picnics with friends, and casual conversations on the back patio. With a nose of bright red fruits, baking spice, and damp earth, this is everything you want in Pinot Noir. The palate gives ripe cherries and strawberries with a hit of pomegranate syrup and herbal notes.
A luxuriously fragrant full bodied Cabernet Sauvignon with fruit forward aromas complimented by touches of Chalk Hill terroir. This deeply purple wine boasts notes of black cherry juice, berry compote and graphite on the nose. These delicious elements carry through to the palate with hints of current balanced by purple florals and a lingering of dark chocolate shavings within structured tannins on the finish.
Rich and decadent, this dark ruby Petite Sirah is like a perfectly-fashioned bow tie, one meant to elevate any ensemble. The nose hits like velvet with swirls of plum jam, roasted chestnuts, and chai, seasoned with whispers of cracked black pepper. These peppery notes follow suit on the palate, accompanied by notes of dark leather and fresh raspberry juice lingering in the structured tannins on the finish.
